When we returned Chris left for Bristol and 3 days later announced that he and 2 friends had set up a film company called “Rubberductions”.  Their objectives were  to make pop videos, short advertising films and documentaries.  In fact anything that might get them started and make money.  Chris had a professional camera and between them they had the computers and software to do the editing.

They set up a web site – www.rubberductions.com and have already made one pop video and some short films, but no money. So if anyone out there needs a film making, contact .... chris@rubberductions.com
Chris and Danielle came home for my birthday.  Danielle brought a friend, “Lucky” (Lucricia), a Luxemburger of Italian descent.

Lucky spoke 5 or six languages fluently – it was amazing to listen to hear her switch from English with me, to French with Danielle and Italian and German on the telephone, all without a pause. We had a few pleasant days out doing the North Yorkshire Tourist bits for Lucky.

Chris flew back to Luxembourg with Danielle and Lucky to start doing some initial research and filming for a proposed documentary on “Wartime Escapes & Home Runs”.

We are hoping to start with Derrick Nabarro’s escape from Germany.  Unfortunately, Derrick died a few years ago, so we are having to use his book “Wait for the Dawn” (Courtesy of “JC” Newland) as the basis for our research.  Chris went to Gerolstein in Germany where Derrick thought he had killed a policeman. (Derrick Nabarro would never go back to Germany after WWII for he thought he was wanted for murder!) Chris began his enquiries.  Despite his lack of German he managed to enlist some local help and is still on with the research.

He even managed to get himself in the local paper!
